Thanks, Denis. I'd read that the benefits of beets take a couple of hours to kick in, so I typically only supplement my diet with it for longer (4+ hour) rides (I'll got out with two bottles -- the first'll have a 2/3 beet juice, 1/3 water mix, the second will have my usual sports-drink mix). Have you also read about this delayed effect, which I think is caused by the fact that it takes time for your body to respond and dilate your blood vessels?
