I’m keeping this one short and sweet, fellow athletes. I’m on vacation in central France right now and I’d really like to take this opportunity to spend less time on the computer and more time exploring the countryside on both foot and tire.
In the meantime, please check out my interview on this week’s Consequence of Habit (CoH) podcast on Apple, Spotify, or wherever you cast your pods.
I met show host JT Frank a few months ago. We immediately bonded over our love of cycling and difficult questions. He is, as we say in SoCal, a “stoker” committed to making the world a better place. His non-profit, Consequence of Habit, is “dedicated to empowering individuals and communities by bringing awareness to the impact habits have on our mental health, success and the environment.”
He asked me on his podcast so that we could discuss nutrition—specifically the science (or lack thereof) behind sugar addiction—but the conversation ended up being much bigger than that. He’s a great interviewer and a pleasure to talk to.
On a neurotic side note, I’m having quite a journey learning how to be a podcast personality despite having presented for Beachbody for years. It’s just so different when someone else is asking you the questions. Although I think I’ve learned how to tether my brain a bit more than I did in my Leadville interviews, I’m still embarrassed by the five thousand times I said “ya know” and “or whatever” during the CoH interview.
Oh well. Ya know, whatever. It’s fun being a work in progress when you’re making progress.
À la prochaine!
