More seriously, part of this discussion is where you draw the line and what health risks you're willing to take to achieve a result (and I'm completely setting aside the legal questions). I have to occasionally take a little blue pill - naproxen, not the other one you were thinking of - so that I can do a long bike ride. If Ritalin and it's ilk are about multiplying the positives, aren't pain killers a complimentary tool, ie, mitigating the negatives (eg, arthritis pains)?
